Our Choice: Krups Coffee Grinders

Krups Twin Blade Coffee Mill - F203

The Krups twin blade coffee mill is great value. This little Krups grinder has been around for a while now, and can be found in many kitchens across the UK. It can be used for grinding spices as well as coffee. It is a great price for a super efficient tool and would make great looking addition to any kitchen. The twin blade Krups coffee grinder is available in black and white finish. See above for all the best deals on Krups coffee grinders.

Krups Coffee Grinders

This wonderful little coffee grinder from Krups whizzes up ground coffee in just a few seconds. Krups are well known for their quality, and their coffee grinders are superbly made and designed. It's very easy to use, and can grind enough coffee for about 10 cups (depending on the way you are making your coffee).

The twin blade Krups coffee grinder has a more expensive big brother - the Expert Krups GVX2 burr coffee grinder. Krups know a thing or 2 about coffee, and also make some of the best range of Espresso machines in the world from modest easy to use machines for novices, to fully automatic bean to cup machines for coffee connoisseurs.

Fast and Easy Grinding

The Krups coffee grinder is a fast little grinder indeed. It can grind enough coffee beans for around 10 cups of coffee in a matter of seconds. The Krups blade grinder has so many fans around the world. Krups owners really appreciate the simplicity of this little grinder. There's no fancy gadgets or techy extras. Just a simple set of blades, a compartment for the coffee beans, and press button to start the grinding. Easy as can be. If there's one complaint some Krups owners have, it's that at first it's hard to know just how long to grind the beans for. There's no exact setting for say, fine, coarse or medium grind. It's left to you to hold the button down long enough to get the right grind. A very rough guide is about 8 seconds grinding for coarse, 12 seconds for medium, and 16 seconds for fine. But everyone has different tastes (and different beans) so just use this as a starting point and experiment to get the right grind for your needs.

Small and Compact

Many Krups owners love the fact that the coffee grinder is so small and compact. It can be put away in a cupboard or drawer without taking up too much precious storage space or worse, precious worktop space!

Grind more than just coffee beans

The Krups is more than just a coffee mill - the Krups is useful for various tasks in the kitchen and according to various Krups owners, can also grind spices (eg. peppercorns), herbs, nuts, seeds (eg. sunflower seeds) and even breadcrumbs! So if you are into a bit of Indian cooking for example, the Krups will prove a great kitchen companion for grinding those fragrant spices.

Easy to Clean, Long Lasting

Cleaning the Krups couldn't be easier. Unplug the machine before you start, then just take a bit of kitchen paper (damp if you prefer) to wipe out the bowl. Simple. However, some do find that it would be better to have a coffee grinder with a removable bowl, which makes it even easier to clean. But this is probably a small gripe, and the Krups is easy enough to clean overall. Certainly the Krups coffee mill is made to last. These are simple, but very well built appliances, made in Germany. Many happy customers have had their coffee grinders for years.

The Krups Coffee Mill is probably one of the best loved and most popular coffee grinders around today. It certainly offers some of the best value in coffee grinders.

Krups Expert Burr Coffee Grinder GVX 231

The Krups expert is a burr coffee grinder, meaning it crushes the beans with grinding burrs, rather than chopping the beans, as with a blade grinder such as the little Krups Twin Blade Coffee Mill above. Burr grinders give a more complete and even grind compare to a blade grinder. Burr grinders are often very expensive, but somehow Krups have developed a good quality burr grinder for under £40. Other burr grinders, such as the KitchenAid grinders, cost at least £100 more!

Krups Expert GVX231 Burr Coffee Grinder

Quick and Easy Grinding to very high standards

The Krups Expert has various settings to help you get the best grind. This is a burr grinder, so is suited to the coffee connoisseur who wants a smooth, even grind. You can dictate the coarseness of the grind using a button on the left side of the grinder, and a control on the front lets you preset an amount to grind automatically. Grinding is very quick and done in 15 seconds or so.

One of the Best Value Burr Coffee Grinders

The Krups GVX231 offers amazing value for a burr grinder. There's simply nothing else to match it in this price range. You may also consider the Dualit Burr Grinder, but these are almost twice as expensive. If you want a better burr grinder, you will have to pay a lot more. And in fact you can pay a good deal more and not get a better burr grinder than this. As you would expect from Krups, the grinder is durable and reliable. The unit is small and easy to store, and very stylish, with a black body and a brushed steel finish and will look elegant in any kitchen - traditional or modern style.

On the (slight) negative side, some Krups owners report of minor problems when feeding the beans through the hopper, and sometimes you may need to shake the machine to move the beans to the grinding burrs. Also, Krups have included some safety mechanisms where if the hopper lid and the coffee container are not fully in place, the unit will not operate. Of course safety is important, but sometimes the lid and container can be a little sensitive, and you'll need to take great care that they are on properly. All in all though, Krups have done it again. Another classic coffee accessory that will soon be in thousands of kitchens worldwide!
